The public is invited to the 2nd Annual Taylorsville Apple Blossom Festival in the streets of downtown Taylorsville on May 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The event, coordinated by the Taylorsville Apple Festival, will begin with an opening ceremony with an invocation and a welcome by elected officials at 8:45 a.m. on the Courthouse Lawn.
Vendors will include foods, crafts, jewelry, home improvement, medical, local agencies, novelties, and more. Activities are planned for the entire family, including a car show, pony rides, petting zoo, Spring-O-Mania Kids’ Zone, train rides, hay rides, AG Quiz Bowl, the YMCA 5k Color Fun Run (8:00 a.m.), two entertainment stages, and more. Music lovers can make their voices heard in the “Battle of the Bands People’s Choice Award” even before the festival begins. People’s Choice Voting is now available by sending a private message to the Taylorsville Apple Festival Facebook’s page, or you can vote at the Main Stage on event day. Fans young and old alike will want to go see “Elvis” (Stephen Freeman) on the Gospel Stage from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., sponsored by Peoples Drug. Other bands include: Main Stage – Carolina Express (9:00), East Alexander Marching Band (10:00), West Alexander Marching Band (10:30), Red Dirt Revival (12:00), Nothing Too Fancy (1:15), Chad Triplett & the Two Lane Black Top (2:45), and Alter Ego (4:00); Gospel Stage – Iredell Choral Society (9:00), Barnes Family (9:50), “Elvis” (11:00), Voices 3 (12:15), Carolina Family Quartet (1:00), Reality (2:00), Carolina Express (3:15), and 4 His Glory (4:15).
Vendor spaces are filling quickly, but there are a few spaces available.

Everyone is encouraged to join the fun, and support this community event where all proceeds above operating costs go to the Needy Children’s Benevolence Funds for all 13 schools in the Alexander County School System.
