The run/walk event, sponsored by the Taylorsville Rotary Club, follows the same course as last year’s race. It is a circular course on the streets of Taylorsville, beginning and ending on Town Park Avenue. The course, which is approximately five (5) miles in length, is rolling with no severe grades. The course is not USATF certified. Proceeds from this race will benefit the Taylorsville Rotary Club’s community service projects.
Awards will be presented to the top three finishers overall, male and female. Awards will also be presented to the top three finishers in each age group, male and female. Age groups include: 9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over. No awards will be mailed. Overall winners are not eligible for age group awards.

• 8K Run/Walk (includes shirt) — $30 (price increases to $35 after November 8 at 11:59 p.m.)
• 8K Run/Walk (no shirt) — $25 (registration ends November 23 at 11:59 p.m.)
• Phantom Runner (on-site shirt pickup) — $20 (registration ends November 8 at 11:59 p.m.)
• Phantom Runner (no shirt) — $10 (registration ends November 23 at 11:59 p.m.)
Note: Shirts are not guaranteed for those who register after November 9 and on race day.
Race packet pickup will be Friday, November 24 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Taylorsville Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, located at 75 2nd St. SW, Taylorsville, and prior to the race at the Registration Tent at the Town Park ball field.
After the race, enjoy great refreshments! Drawings will be held for door prizes from local merchants (must be present to win).
Cash donations are also gladly accepted to help support the club’s many community service projects. Donations to the Taylorsville Rotary Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, are tax deductible. The race proceeds provide financial support for the many community service projects of Taylorsville Rotary. During the holiday season, when the race takes place, we will be gearing up for the Bill Shell Memorial Shopping Spree for underprivileged children in the schools of Alexander County. Club members, volunteers, and Navy ROTC members partner to take elementary children Christmas shopping for “needs and wants,” while also providing gift cards for kids in need at both middle schools and the high school. Other projects include food backpacks during the school year, “Groceries for Alexander People” delivered quarterly to shut-ins, scholarships, and more.
