The public is invited to “Art on Parade Masquerade” on Friday, October 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center’s Educational Complex. This fun event is the Center’s annual fundraiser with all proceeds benefiting the Center and its ongoing efforts to provide arts and cultural opportunities for all ages.
This year’s theme, “Art on Parade Masquerade,” invites guests to experience an evening of creativity, showcasing live painting, live music, living art works, and a silent auction filled with one-of-a-kind items from regional artists and local businesses.
Art on Parade Masquerade begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at the Center’s Educational Complex (70 Hiddenite Church Road in Alexander County). Tickets are $25 each or two for $40. Tickets are on sale at the Center’s Lucas Mansion (316 Hiddenite Church Road) or can be purchased by calling (828) 632-6966..
The evening will feature jazz and swing music by Rick Cline’s Moodswings trio, dancing, delicious hors d’oeuvres, cash wine bar, silent auction with fantastic treasures donated by regional artists and businesses, and living artworks. Artistic costumes are welcome, but are not required.
Art on Parade’s musical entertainment is perfect for listeners of all ages and great for those who enjoy dancing. Moodswings has been charming audiences all over the Hickory area for more than 20 years with their dazzling repertoire of music encompassing nearly 70 years of musical triumph, from the tranquil sounds of the early crooners to the edgier rockabilly of the 50’s and 60’s, all the way to the hits of the 70’s and 80’s. When Moodswings opens a number, the energy and vocal grace brings to life an age that has passed us by if only for the duration of a song. Members include: Rick Cline on drums, Nathan Hefner on vocals and piano, and Rick Hefner on saxophone.
Art on Parade is made possible, in part, by Gallery of Giving Sponsors, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. If you would like to be a sponsor of Art on Parade Masquerade, contact Miranda at (828) 632-6966 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
